KARACHI: The country's liquid foreign exchange reserves further declined by $269 million in a week due to external debt servicing.

According to weekly report issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Thursday, Pakistan's total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $15.52 billion as on Sept 19, 2018 compared to $15.79 billion on Sept 14, 2018.

During the week under review, the SBP's reserves decreased by $293 million to $9.036 billion at the end of the last week down from $9.328 billion a week earlier. The SBP's reserves declined due to external debt servicing and other official payments. However, reserves held by banks increased by $24 million to $6.485 billion during the last week.
