RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party’s Chairman Mustafa Kamal Monday rejected the increase in the prices of CNG and demanded of the federal government to review it in the greater interest of masses. Kamal opined that hike in CNG prices would trigger a new wave of inflation in the country, which would further burden the low-income groups, a statement stated. The PSP Chief said the government is responsible for providing facilities to the people rather than killing them financially by increasing the prices of gas. “This act of the government would push up the fares of transport as well as the cost of doing business that would further cripple already devastated economy of the country,” Kamal said.

He said that people pinned high hopes in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government on the back of its election slogans and promises, which according to him are not being honoured, which is reflected from the latest act of increase in gas prices. Kamal called upon Federal Finance Minister Asad Umar to lower down the prices of gas and electricity to give a boost to the economic activities in the country for the generation of employment opportunities for the poor and middle class segments of the society. The PSP Chief also stressed upon Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of the gas price hike and provide relief to the people.
