ISLAMABAD: Journalists left the press conference of Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda incomplete over 'harsh comments.'

According to details, the minister was holding a news conference in the federal capital when a journalist asked a question about the decision to award the Rs 300 billion Mohmand dam contract on a single bid to Descon company. The company is owned by Prime Minister's Adviser on Commerce and Industry Razzaq Daud.

The question irked the federal minister and he passed harsh comments. He said the confusion about Descon and Razzaq Daud is deliberately creating by those people who have some vested interests and this is the conspiracy against the country, he added.

The minister further said this kind of negative propaganda is a big hurdle in the construction of dams in the country.

These remarks annoyed the journalists who were attending his press conference and they protested over it. However, when the situation gone worse, the minister tendered his apology to the journalists, but they left the presser incomplete. —NNI
