PESHAWAR: The World Customs Day was observed here on Saturday to recognize the role of Customs officials and agencies in maintaining border security.

In this regard, a ceremony was held at Peshawar Customs House, in which Customs Collector Peshawar, Dr Muhammad Saeed Khan Jadoon was the chief guest. A large number of Customs officers and employees were present on the occasion.

The International Customs Day is celebrated across the world on January 26, which aimed to highlight the importance of Customs department.

Speaking on the occasion, the Customs Collector Peshawar, Dr Muhammad Saeed Khan Jadoon said that Pakistan Customs has made phenomenal progress in the use of technology in recent years. Peshawar Customs Collector informed that green channel was launched at Torkham border, which is ensuring trade with payment of all taxes.
