LAHORE: Co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Zardari said on Tuesday that he would start his political activities in Punjab with a tour to South Punjab soon. He said the PPP was able to perform well in the field of politics but it was abstaining from political tactics under the prevailing security situation of the country.

He was talking to a delegation of PPP Punjab leadership that called on him at the Bilawal House. It may be noted that Zardari was in the town to attend wedding ceremony of the daughter of former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Ch Zaka Ashraf. Those who called on him included PPP Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senior Vice President Ch Aslam Gill and Secretary Information Syed Hassan Murtaza. They discussed party affairs as well as national political situation with Zardari. It will be followed by a meeting of the PPP Punjab Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday (today).

He said the PPP was in a position to put the federal government into trouble but it was not doing so because of the abnormal security situation of the country. He said the PPP have been rendering sacrifice for national security and it would continue with the same spirit right now.
