ISLAMABAD: The parliamentary party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) discussed the strategy to get the federal budget of the next fiscal year passed by the National Assembly. A meeting of PTI’s parliamentary party was held here at the Parliament House on Tuesday. Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the meeting. The parliamentary party meeting was also attended by the allies of PTI. The meeting discussed overall political situation and the strategy to get the federal budget of next year passed by the National Assembly.

In his address, the Prime Minister directed all the members to ensure their presence in the budget approval session. He said that the opposition parties won’t get a ‘National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO)’ whether they arrange an all-parties conference (APC) or run any kind of movement. “No one has directly approached the government for reconciliation formula,” he added.

PM Khan said the aim of improving regulations and developing them on modern lines will facilitate the business segment. He said that small and medium-sized industry has suffered badly due to no objection certificate (NOC) requirement by different departments and lack of automation.

He said that multiple NOCs, new terms and conditions and various regulatory stages not only open the ways for corruption but also affect the foreign investment.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister also approved the establishment of a steering committee headed by Advisor on Establishment Shahzad Arbab and Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood. The secretary commerce, chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), chairman Board of Investment (BOI), president Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), presidents of chambers of commerce of Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad, and representatives of Pakistan Business Council will be part of the committee. The parliamentarians discussed in detail the strategy for the approval of annual budget for financial year 2019-20. They also deliberated on handling the anti-government movement launched by the opposition parties.
