LAHORE: Chinese Consul General Long Dingbin called on Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan on Thursday and discussed matters pertaining to mutual interest along with security of Chinese professionals working on different projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Speaking on the occasion at the Central Police Office (CPO), the IGP ensuring fool proof security of Chinese professionals working on different projects of the CPEC across the province is the priority of the Punjab police and professionally trained force equipped with latest equipment, Special Protection Unit (SPU) is working hard for it.

He further said that the DIG SPU and all the district police officers (DPOs) of relevant districts also regularly visit the sites to review the security arrangements. IG Arif told the Chinese envoy that the SPU personnel have equipped with fast moving vehicles, bullet proof jackets, helmets and other modern equipment so that they can perform their official duties efficiently.
