LAHORE: Pakistan Kisaan Ittehad (PKI) has withdrawn its protest call given for July 1st across the province of the Punjab following the assurance given to them by Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar for due consideration of their demands.

Central Chairman Pakistan Kissan Ittehad Chaudhry Anwar along with other representatives and members of Ittehad met Governor Punjab Ch Mohammad Sarwar and informed him about the problems being faced by the farmers. The governor assured them early solution of their problems.

The governor said that federal and provincial governments are working in collaboration to resolve the problems of farmers like payment of dues pending from sugar mills and provision of the pesticides. He said that the role of farmers in uplifting the economy of the country cannot be neglected. He added that the government will provide subsidy to farmers on electricity, pesticides and other things.

Moreover, a five-member delegation of Czech-Pakistan inter-Parliamentary friendship group led by Daniel Pawlas, member of Chamber of deputies of Parliament of Czech Republic called on Governor Punjab on Thursday and appreciated governor Sarwar’s initiative of the provision of clean drinking water to the people of Punjab.

During the meeting, Governor Punjab Ch Mohammad Sarwar thanked the delegation for providing scholarships to Pakistani students.

A delegation of National lobbying group headed by Krishan Sharma and Haqoob Gull also met with Governor Punjab and discussed matters pertaining to legislation for minorities and Hindu Marriage laws.
