SIALKOT: The Agriculture department said on Sunday that a well knitted plan costing over Rs5 billion has been chalked out for putting agri-sector on modern lines.

Sources in the department told Business Recorder that the basic concept of plan was to improve the economic condition of farmers through making agri-sector more profitable.

Under the plan the government will provide modern agri-implements on half price to the growers in fifteen districts of the Punjab.

The government will provide 700 rice trans-planters, power sprayers etc. in Sialkot, Lahore Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Okara, Gujrat, Mandi Baha Uddin through balloting.
