ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has decreased the price of 11.8-kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) domestic cylinder by Rs 68.47 for the month of July.

After a substantial reduction in the demand of LPG, the Ogra has reduced the price of domestic LPG cylinder by 5 percent. It is for the second time in the current year that Ogra has notified a reduction in the price of LPG.

The new notified price of 11.8-kg domestic cylinder will be Rs 1330.92 which was Rs1399.39 in June.

The producers’ price of LPG (propane 40 percent and butane 60 percent – two components of the LPG) has been determined at Rs 56,733.40 per metric tonne (MT), decreased from Rs 61,691.99 per metric tonne (MT) of the price fixed for June.

The producers’ price includes excise duty of Rs 85 per metric tonne, excluding petroleum levy, and under this head, the producer price of 11.8-kg cylinder has been worked out at Rs 669.45, below the cylinder price of Rs 727.97 in June, said the notification.

As per the notification, the marketing/distribution margin has been set at Rs 35,000 per MT and Rs 413 per 11.8-kg cylinder, while petroleum levy of Rs 4,669 per metric tonne will be also charged, which is Rs 55.09 for 11.8-kg cylinder.

Ex-GST or prior to general sales tax (GST) imposition, the consumer price will be Rs 96,402.40 per metric tonne, which has been reduced from Rs 101,360.99 per metric tonne in June and the 11.8-kg cylinder price has been reduced from Rs 1196.06 in June to Rs 1137.54 in July.

The GST of 17 percent or Rs 16,388.41 per metric tonne has been imposed.
