KARACHI: On the first day of their fresh drive against vehicles with tinted glasses and fancy mummer plats, the city traffic police Thursday claimed to have challaned as many as 1,310 vehicles across the metropolis and collected from them an accumulated fine of around Rs800,000.

As per data released from traffic police, these vehicles included 933 four-wheelers and 377 motorbikes and were playing on the city roads with tinted glasses and fancy number plates which is violation of traffic rules.

The traffic police last month conducted an intensive drive against those riding motorbikes without wearing helmets.

The law enforcers have advised the citizens to display the numbers plates issued by the Excise Department or in accordance with the notified pattern of Excise department.
