ISLAMABAD: Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in Islamabad today (Thursday) for a daylong visit ‘to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two brotherly countries.’

The United Arab Emirates Ambassador in Islamabad Hamad Obaid Alzaabi stated in a statement here Wednesday that to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two brotherly countries, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, will be arriving Islamabad on Thursday on a daylong official visit.

During the visit of the Crown Prince, he will hold bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to discuss the ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, and to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and regional and global situation.

This will be the UAE Crown Prince’s Second visit to Pakistan during the tenure of the incumbent government, as earlier he visited Pakistan in January last year and also pledged $3 billion to support Pakistan’s shabby economy.

On December 27, 2019, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Vice Chairman of the Supreme National Committee of the Year of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan visited Pakistan and met with Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi.

The visit of the UAE’s Crown Prince is taking place following Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud’s trip to the country on December 26, 2019 which took place in the aftermath of Kuala Lumpur Summit in Malaysia. Pakistan had skipped the KL Summit, citing Saudi concerns.
