KARACHI: The city is likely to experience a spell of hot weather with a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius of temperature in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Wednesday. The metropolis’s horizons are likely to remain mostly sunny with a maximum temperature of up to 36 degrees Celsius and 71 percent humidity. “A shallow westerly wave is affecting western parts of the country,” the Met said. Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours with some light rain and thunderstorm in northeast of Balochistan, upper Sindh, south Punjab, Kashmir and adjoining areas. Dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country in the last 24 hours. However rain fell in parts of Punjab and Kashmir. Murree received 12mm of rainfall, Hafizabad 4mm and Kakul 2mm. Maximum temperature was recorded in Chhor (43 degrees Celsius) and in Mirpurkhas and Mithi (42 degree Celsius each).
