Sindh records recovery of 2417 patients in 24 hours: CM

KARACHI: Sharing Covid-19 situation report with the media, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah told that out of 9080 tested samples, 1776 new patients were detected while 22 patients died lifting the death toll to 853.

In a statement issued from the CM House, the chief minister said 9080 tests produced 20 percent positive cases. “Our detection rate remains between 20 to 24 percent which has to be controlled through social distancing and other SOPs,” he said. The chief minister added that 307412 tests have been conducted so far against which 55,581 cases were detected, of them 28023 patients recovered, including 2417 overnight. “This is the highest recovery rate recorded at 50.5 percent of the total patients,” he said.

The CM said at present 26705 patients were under treatment, including 24789 at home isolation, 90 at Isolation centers and 1826 at different hospitals. He said that out of 1776 new cases mein, 1091 belonged to Karachi. They include 337 South, 258 East, 205 Central, 104 Korangi, 95 Malir and 92 West. The CM said that Kashmore has new 66, Hyderabad 55, Ghotki 41, Khairpur 29, Larkana 29, Jacobabad 26, Sukkur 26, Mirpurkhas 24, Thatta 24, Jamshoro 13, Kambar 11, Shaheed Benazirabad 10, Sanghar 9, Shikarpur 8, Badin 8, Dadu seven, Umerkot 6, Tando Allahar 5, Matiari 3 and Tando Mohammad Khan 2 cases.
