KARACHI: The ADP for the Sindh energy department has been pitched at Rs1 billion for the fiscal year 2020-21 and Rs3.3 billion for foreign funded projects. The provincial government’s Budget documents said, Rs498.75 million has been allocated for electrification of primary health facilities through solar PV technology (SBA, Ghotki, Larkano, Badin, Dadu, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Matiari, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, T A Yar & N Feroze). Village Electrification Programme in Sindh with Rs250 million, electrification of Goths (Villages) in and around Karachi with Rs137.5 million.

Sindh Solar Energy Project (SSEP) with Rs75 million and Rs3.3 billion from foreign project assistance.

Budget Estimates for Energy Department in current revenue expenditure is pitched at Rs24.99 billion, which includes Rs20 billion for clearance of outstanding liabilities of electricity dues of various government departments pertaining to DISCOs such as KE, HESCO and SEPCO. Budgetary allocation of Director Alternate Energy Sindh has been enhanced by 11.5 percent from Rs21.34 million to Rs23.79 million. Budgetary allocation of Director Oil & Gas Sindh has been enhanced by 77.8 percent from Rs9.38 million to Rs16.69 million. Rs200 million has been allocated for Thar Coal Energy Board in next FY 2020-21.
