KARACHI: As many as 2,115 new cases of coronavirus emerged when 10,212 samples were tested while 30 more patients died lifting the death toll to 916.

This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday in a statement issued here from CM House.

According to the statement, 10,212 tests were conducted against which 2115 new cases emerged that showed 21 positive result. So far 329,443 tests have been conducted which diagnosed 59,983 cases all over Sindh that constituted 18.2 percent. The chief minister said that 30 more patients died overnight lifting the death toll to 916. “This shows 1.5 percent death rate,” he said.

At present, 29,374 patients were under treatment, of them 27,824 in home isolation, 76 at Isolation centers and 1,483 in different hospitals. Shah said that 626 patients were in critical condition, of them 94 have been shifted on ventilators.

He said that 448 more patients recovered overnight and the number of patients recovered so far has reached to 29,693 that constituted 49.6 percent recovery rate. Shah said that out of 2115 new 1423 belonged to Karachi, they include 437 East, 402 South, 198 Central, 150 Korangi, 126 West and 110 Malir.

District Ghotki has 55 new cases, Larkana 41, Khairpur 33, Mirpurkhas 32, Kashmore 30, Hyderabad 24, Naushehroferoze 15, Jamshoro 13, Badin 12, Thatta and Kambar have nine each, Umerkot, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jacobabad have seven each, Shikarpur four, Tando Mohammad Khan and Sanghar three each and Dadu two.

Shah once again urged people of Sindh to follow SOPs, observe social distancing and wear mask when go out.
