RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Punjab government has reportedly constituted a four member high-level ministerial committee headed by the Senior & Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan to negotiate with the flour millers’ body to discuss the issue of releasing government wheat for easing the wheat and flour prices in the market.

The committee will include Punjab Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal, Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht and Agriculture Minister Nauman Langrial as members of this committee.

The committee is expected to hold its first meeting on Friday to get some breakthrough on the issue of releasing government wheat to mills of all the 36 districts of the province instead of only five districts. It may be mentioned here that the flour millers had threatened to stop grinding if all their members are not issued grains from government stocks.
