JI submits resolution against attack on Iran
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: A resolution submitted at the Sindh Assembly secretariat on Monday by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), condemning the joint attack on Iran by the United States and Israel, declaring them a threat to global peace and labelling the Jewish Zionist state an occupying and illegitimate state.
Muhammad Farooq, a JI MPA, submitted the resolution, which strongly criticises the military action against Iran and its reported consequences.
According to the resolution, the attack on Iran by the US and Israel is condemned, as well as the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. The resolution states that the US and Israel pose a threat to global peace, alleging that they were bombing schools, hospitals, and residential areas in Iran. It said that these strikes resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians including children and female students, describing the actions as a blatant violation of humanitarian principles and the United Nations Charter.
The resolution further alleges that the United States and Israel seek to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs through such attacks and have repeatedly expressed intentions of regime change. It asserts that interference into the internal matters of any country, incitement of the public, or attempts to engineer a change of government constitute violations of international law and the UN Charter.
