ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday decreased the ex-depot price of petrol by Rs3.13 per litre to Rs345.87 per litre from Rs 349 per litre.
However, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs3.74 per litre to Rs378.05 per litre for next three days, effective from September 5.
Rising tensions from the US–Iran conflict and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz continue to drive up global petroleum rates, resulting in a daily increase in domestic fuel prices.
The ex-refinery price of petrol has decreased to Rs235.42 per litre from Rs238.17 per litre on previous day (September 4), whereas, ex-refinery price of HSD has increased to Rs271.18 from Rs267.50 per litre.
According to the notification of Petroleum Division, dealer margins is sustained at Rs9.98 per litre on the both products, Petroleum Levy on both the products are Rs80 per litre each. Customs duty has maintained at Rs20.65 per litre for petrol and Rs15.68 per litre for HSD. Climate Support Levy (CSL) has been held steady at Rs5 per litre for both fuels. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) margins remain unchanged at Rs7.87 across both products.
The Petroleum Pricing Committee, led by Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, proposed June 2027 as the timeline for deregulation.
