RAWALPINDI: Twenty-one militants were killed in several clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 3 and 5, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR said security forces carried out an operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan during the night of August 31 and September 1, killing 10 militants.
In another clash, security forces targeted a group of militants and killed seven in a carefully planned operation.
Joint operations were also carried out in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan districts. During two separate clashes, four more militants were killed, the ISPR said.
The ISPR said the repeated incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border once again showed what it described as the Afghan Taliban government’s failure to prevent terrorist organisations operating under its protection from using Afghan territory. It said the Afghan Taliban government had also continued to fail to ensure effective border management and fulfil its international responsibilities in the fight against terrorism.—NNI
