PESHAWAR: The house job medical officers of various teaching hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rejected the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council new assignment to appear to exact exam before to FCPS exam, demanding the PMDC to review its decision forthwith.

This was stated by the United House Officers Medical Officer Association, a body of doctors’ president Dr Majeed Nawaz along with vice president Dr Hamidullah, General Secretary Dr Abdul Razzaq, and others, while addressing at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club here on Monday.

Dr Nawaz said the doctors from other provinces, have been exempted from the exact exam, but the decision was only implemented at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by PMDC, which is sheer discrimination and unjust with the community of the province. He said the decision was taken unilaterally, which could not acceptable to them at any cost. He said the future of doctors, will be on stake, if the decision was implemented by PMDC.

Dr Nawaz said that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for specialization FCPs exam will be in November while application for this will be submitted in September, adding that

in the new rules of PMDC those doctors who were did their house job practice they will first clear the exact exam and then they will qualify for FCPS.

The association president further said that this was also written in the new rule of PMDC that those students who were failed twice the exact exam then they will again doing their house job practice, adding that this was a wrong practice doing by PMDC with medical students.

Dr Hamidullah said the concern hospitals were not give them their house job experience to the doctors, adding that because of this decision the house job officers will face difficulties to get specialization course of FCPS and their precious time will be loose.

He demanded the PMDC to review the decision and taking back it because it will affecting the future of doctors, adding that if the PMDC not take their decision back then they will be on the roads to take their rights demands.
