LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Thursday sought a report from the Water and Sanitation Authority (WSA) on the working of the Chauburji Sanitation Disposal Station.

The court also sought details of 10 different stay orders issued by the Lahore High Court regarding the sanitation system of Lahore.

The court was hearing suo motu proceedings against a poor sanitation system around the court building at the Lahore registry. Water Authority Managing Director Chaudhry Naseer who appeared in the court on Thursday claimed the Chauburji Disposal Station was set up which would soon start functioning. He said after its functioning, the problem would be resolved.

He said against the restoration of drainage system of the city, different citizens had taken stay orders from the Lahore High Court which has become a major hurdle in its restoration.
