PESHAWAR: Pakistani Consulate in Herat City of Afghanistan held a flag hoisting ceremony to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan. The ceremony presided over by the Consul General of Pakistan Bakht Baidar Khan was also attended by a large number of Pakistani community in the city.

Addressing the Independence Day ceremony, the Pakistani Consul General said that according to the guidance foreign policy given by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah Pakistan is keen in brotherly relations with all countries and particularly with her neighbours.

He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are enjoying close religious and cultural relations and both countries are working for the establishment of peace. He said peace is no price. He said that with the grace of Allah Almighty, Pakistanis today are breathing in independent and autonomous country.

He said that Pakistan is very important country of the region and its international level efforts for establishment of peace have been appreciated.

In the end of the function a cake was also cut to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan and prayed for the progress and development of the country.
