KARACHI: A very large number of motor companies of different countries are expected to participate in an international expo of the automotive industry, which is scheduled to be held from March 3 to 5 at Karachi’s Expo Centre.

Fifty-six companies from China, a huge number of participants from Europe, Turkey and other countries will take part in this event.

Addressing representatives of the automotive industry at a meeting, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, senior vice president of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and head of the FPCCI’s standing committee on automotives, said that 144 vendors and car manufacturers, including Toyota, Suzuki, Honda and companies from Pakistan will participate in the international expo.

He said that it is good news that restructuring of Hyundai Motors has been completed. He said that there are efforts to invite the prime minister and finance minister for the inauguration of the event.

He praised the efforts of TDAP CEO S.M. Muneer and FPCCI president Zubair F. Tufail for the arrangements for the expo and promotion of the industry. Ghzanfar Ali Khan added that that there are huge opportunities of investment in Pakistan for automotive sector, and the auto policy is helpful for bringing new technologies and models.
