MULTAN: The gastroenteritis went out of control in Multan as 207 new patients were brought to different hospitals in the city.

Gastroenteritis or infectious diarrhoea, which is inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract that involves the stomach and small intestine, has gone berserk in Multan.

Each day over 100 new patients are being brought to the health facilities in the city.

According to Health Department, some 207 new patients were admitted in hospitals on a single day. The department said the old patients were being discharged after treatment.

The patients were admitted in Nishtar Hospital, Children Complex, Civil Hospital and Shahbaz Sharif General Hospital. Doctors have advised people to ensure eating clean food and drink boiled water to help bring gastro disease under control.—INP
