FAISALABAD: In order to evolve concrete methods for solution of the multiple problems confronted by Pakistan textile & other industries, tillers of the soil and exporters, a one-day Conference will kick-off at National Textile University (NTU) on July 11, 2017. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Rector, NTU, will chair Joint German-Pakistan experts conference in which the expertise of 14 plus Pakistani and 14 German Research and Industry partners will be brought together. Dr. Wasim Ibrahim is the chief organizer while Dr. Hifsa Jamshed is the organizer of this one-day Workshop.

The joint conference will deliberate over German demand of “High quality cotton-textile products” from Pakistan responsible for substantial water consumption and waste-water impacts in Punjab, known as “imports of viral water to Germany”. The project of German ministry for education & research “Innovative Impulses Reducing the Water Footprint of the Global Cotton-Textile Industry towards the UN-Sustainable Development Goals (InoCottonGROW)” will bring the Pakistani-German research together.

Rector NTU told that Pakistan was an agricultural country and the fourth largest country of the World in cotton production while our country was included in the 10 top countries in Textile Exports. Our Textiles have 9 percent share in the country’s GDP while 15 Million people were attached with textile sector.
