LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has disclosed that UNESCO has endorsed Punjab government’s stance over passing of Orange Line Metro Train near to heritage buildings.

He said this in a statement issued from Poland to Pakistani media after attending World Heritage Conference that held in Poland. He said that government of Punjab submitted its official stance in UNESCO secretariat regarding construction of OLMT in Lahore and the same was presented to members of the World Heritage Conference that held in Poland. All the countries unanimously accepted the point of view of the Punjab government with regard to passing of Orange Line Train near heritage buildings after detailed deliberations.

Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood attended this conference as a representative of Pakistan and presented Punjab government’s stance in effective and logical way. In his statement, the minister said that international experts have agreed that OLMT project will not affect the heritage of Lahore. Approval of Punjab government’s stance over OLMT project in World Heritage Conference shows the trust of international community on Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s policies and vision, he concluded.—PR
