LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir has said that latest treatment facilities would be provided in the Police Lines Hospital Lahore and before formal inauguration, all the medical equipment would be installed.

During his visit to the hospital at Lahore Police Lines on Wednesday, Imran said that procurement of the medical equipment is under process. He said that 40-bedded hospital has become a model healthcare facility for the police jawans and their families.

DIG Operations Dr Ashraf Haider, CEO Health Lahore Dr Yadullah, MS and other senior police officials were present.

Khawaja Imran Nazir visited emergency ward, male and female OPD, laboratory, medical store, wards and washrooms. He directed to set up ‘Khidmatgar counter’ for the guidance of the patients. He also directed that janitorial service would be outsourced token system in OPD also be started.

He further said that patient referral system would also be established in the hospital for the shifting of any serious patient to the teaching hospital through Rescue-1122 ambulance.

DIG Operation Dr Ashraf Haider said that Police Lines hospital would extend treatment and diagnostic facilities to the police officials and their families and they would be facilitated. He said that by providing facilities, morale of the police force could be further boosted and they would perform their duties with more dedication.

Moreover, Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Kh Salman Rafiq visited DHQ Teaching Hospital Gujranwala to investigate the complaints by the patients and their attendants of Pediatric Department of the hospital.

Secretary Health Najam Ahmad Shah and Commissioner Gujranwala and Principal Gujranwala Medical College were also accompanied the Minister.

Salman also met the attendants of the patients to evaluate their grievances. He also visited Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology. He said that cardiac bypass operation would also be started soon in the Institute.
