FAISALABAD: Pakistan Day was celebrated throughout the district with national enthusiasm and fervour with the renewal of pledge to utilize all energies and capabilities to get the Pakistan out of problems and to do utmost efforts for the development and progress of the homeland.

The main ceremony of flag hoisting was held at DC Complex. State Minister for Textile Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, CPO Athar Ismail and Members parliament Khalida Mansoor and Fatima Fareeha hoisted the national flag while the officers of different departments, representatives of civil society were also present on the occasion.

The participants of the ceremony recited the national anthem and active contingent of police presented salute. Sweets were distributed among participants and special prayers were offered for the progress of Pakistan and national unity.

The State Minister Textile, expressing his views, said the entire nation was celebrating the Pakistan Day with unity as it was the historical day of Pakistan history when resolution for the independence of the Pakistan was passed.

He said the govt was following revolutionary policies for steering the country out of crisis and encouraging results had been achieved of the measures against terrorism. He vowed that Pakistan would be made welfare state by following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani said that 23rd March 1940 was the turning point for the Muslims of sub-continent and Pakistan became into existence after short span of seven years with organized struggle and the untiring efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He said Pakistan was achieved after offering a number of sacrifices and “we would not spare any effort for the solidarity and progress of the Pakistan.”

CPO Athar Ismail paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Pakistan movement. He said the law enforcement agencies were rendering sacrifices to root out the menace of terrorism from country and “we would make Pakistan citadel of peace with joint efforts of the nation.”

Parliamentarians also highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day. The flag hoisting ceremonies were also held at Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology, DHQ hospital and others institutions.

Likewise various political, social, business, educational and other organizations arranged different events to highlight the importance and significance of Pakistan resolution. The banners and steamers with the slogans of Youm-e-Pakistan were displayed at roads, intersections and other public place by the district administration. The flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at Tehsil Head Quarters.

Earlier, the day was dawn with the special prayers in the mosques for the solidarity and national unity.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Resolution Day was observed at New Senate Hall, University of Agriculture Faisalabad with traditional zeal and spirit.

Addressing to participants, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said the country was achieved after the great sacrifices. He said that in the year 1940 at Minto Park Lahore, the Muslims resolved to advance as a separate entity. He added “our elders visualized and articulated the true picture of freedom and liberty.” He said the country was achieved after tremendous struggle and sacrifices under unprecedented freedom movement led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal that resulted in emergence of an independent Muslim state. “It is our now duty to work with dedication for the progress of our homeland.” He was of the view that message of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam must be spread among the people in order to make prosperity in every field of life. He called for becoming good citizen and good workers. The education is prerequisite for the uplift of the country, he said, adding that “we have to promote the education in every corner of the country.” Different competitions including Qirar, Naat, debate, essay, walk and others were arranged on the occasion.
