LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has handed over an accused to Sargodha Police who was wanted by the Interpol.

A senior FIA official said the accused, identified as Raheel Ahmad, resident of Sargodha, was arrested during immigration clearance at the Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA) after his particulars hit the Interpol Red Notice category.

The official said the accused was also wanted to the District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha in a murder case. In 2016, the DPO through a letter (FIA/IMMG/ECL/F-7(1)/Hq/2016/11097) had sought assistance of the FIA for putting the name of the accused into the Red Notice of the Interpol. The accused has been being handed over to Sargodha Police for further legal action, he concluded.
