TDAP organises event to create awareness

KARACHI: To create awareness among exporters of agro products for UAE market, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organized a three-day event ‘Initiative Program to Control Food from the Source” in collaboration with the Agriculture Market Development (AMD) for Dubai Municipality, at a hotel, here.

Experts gave presentations pertaining to UAE’s requirements for agro/food related imports (SPS/Documentary requirements) at the event that began on April 9 and culminated on 11th with a focus on explaining different types of contraventions in which exports from Pakistan fall and documentary requirements of UAE compliance regime.

On first day, focus was on agro products (Fruits & Vegetables), the second day was dedicated to Meat, Poultry, Fisheries and related products and on the last day, matters related to rice and processed food were discussed. All concerned associations, exporters and representatives from government departments such as Plant Protection, Animal Quarantine, and Marine Fisheries Department attended the sessions.

The seminars also provided a platform for the local exporters to clear if they have any misconceptions and raise their concerns with Dubai Municipality Experts which will have a positive impact on Pakistan’s exports to UAE.
