KARACHI: The revenue of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has surged by over 40 percent during last six months as compared to last corresponding period, said CEO PIA. He was speaking at MoU signing ceremony held at Federation House Karachi on the other day.

CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that during last six months, PIA revenues have surged by more than 40% comparing with corresponding period of 2018.

He said that PIA sought expertise, guidance and support from the business community for the betterment and development of the national flag carrier.

He said that by the grace of Almighty, the airline was now on right track without any outer influence and pressure; adding that PIA has tremendous potential to rise and we want to exploit that in the interest of the nation.

Besides travel PIA like to join hands with local industry in other areas especially the cargo, he said and added that significant improvement is evident in other performance indicators like seat factor, yield, aircraft utilization, cargo load factor and customer service etc. He emphasized upon promotion of co-branding with Pakistani companies which certainly will help in strengthening the economy and national exchequer as well.

The MoU was signed between President & CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik and President Daroo Khan Achakzai.

Through MoU both organizations will extend support for mutual cooperation. PIA will provide tangible services to members of FPCCI including setting up booking/reservation facility at Federation House besides facilitation desks at major airports across the country. On FPCCI part, it will prefer PIA not only for travel but also for other promotional activities.

President FPCCI, Daroo Khan Achakzai said that FPCCI is very keen to cooperate with PIA as it is the national flag carrier. He expressed his satisfaction on behalf of FPCCI over the recent improvements in PIA by Air Marshal Arshad Malik. S M Muneer expressed his all-out support for PIA and lauded the efforts of Air Marshal Arshad in its revival.

FPCCI’s other top leadership also spoke at the occasion including Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Noor Ahmad Khan, Shabbir Ahmed, Arshad Jamal and Shujaat Ali Baig and vowed their support for the national flag carrier.
