LAHORE: Punjab Government on Wednesday approved five development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 11730.303 million.

These schemes were approved at the 18th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2013-14. Provincial Secretary Planning & Development (P&D) Arif Anwar Baloch, all members of the P&D Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting. Spokesman P&D Department said the approved development schemes included: (a) Up-gradation of Government General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Faisalabad at the cost of Rs 990.696 million, (b) Saaf Pani Project at the cost of Rs 9470 million, (c) Construction of Metaled Road from Zain to Kharar Buzdar via Birthi length 86.50 km (Part-I km No. 0/0 to 10/0=10 km) in District Dera Ghazi Khan (revised) at the cost of Rs 269.478 million, (d) widening/improvement of Sher Shah Road from Aziz Hotel to Sher Shah Bypass length 16.79 km in District Multan at the cost of Rs 335.155 million and (e) widening/improvement of Shahdara Maqboolpura Narang Road in District Shiekhupura (length 45.42 km) at the cost of Rs 664.974 million.
