LAHORE: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has evacuated 81,864 flood affectees from flood-prone districts of Punjab; out of which some 25,934 persons have been evacuated from flood vulnerable areas of Layyah, 9,407 from Rahim Yar Khan, 10,033 from Muzaffargarh, 792 in Khushab and 13,627 from Rajanpur.

Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director Doctor Arshad Zia claimed on Monday that major rescue operations were conducted in Layyah, DG Khan, Mianwali, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur Districts of Punjab. He said flood rescue operation shall continue till flood season was over.

Details provided by the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service claimed that some 4,262 from Sumra Nashaib; 473 from Lohanch Nashaib, 624 from Dewan Chowk, 420 from Mouza Bakhri Ahmed Khan, 406 from Basti Gurmani, 20 from Mongar, 554 from Mouza Shahwala, 3,185 from Wara Sehr, 2,589 from Basti Jakhar, 216 from Maqsood Chowk, 1,788 from Mouza Sheen Wala and 1,067 from Basti Kanjal in Layyah District, 4,224 flood-affectees were evacuated from Chachran Sharif; 3,416 from Mouza Chuhan, 1,378 from Bhong and 389 from Abadpur in Rahim Yar Khan District. Similarly, 361 from Tari Khel Kacha; 282 from Mouch Kacha, 288 from Namal Jheel and 309 from Rokharri Kacha in Mianwali District. Out of total 10,033 flood-affectees of Muzaffargarh, 2,384 were evacuated from Kundai, 1,795 from Bangla Hinjra, 429 from Left Marginal Band and 4,909 from Sarki Bandd.
