KARACHI: A traffic policeman was shot dead while another injured as unknown men targeted them near Paradise Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal in the jurisdictions of Mobin Town Police station here on Monday.

Police said the officials were deputed at Gulzar-e-Hijri traffic check post as two men riding a motorbike emerged and fired multiple bullets and fled the scene, leaving both of them critically injured. CCTV footage of the incident shows an armed man walks towards the police check post and opens multiple fires, targeting the officials from close range and runs away by motorbike along with his accomplice.

The victims were moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where one of them succumbed to his injuries due to massive bleeding while another was under treatment. The deceased was identified as head constable Muhammad Khan, while the injured as head constable Kamran.

Three policemen and a passer-by boy were shot dead by unknown men near Darul Uloom Korangi on Friday last.
