RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court directed the ministry of religious affairs to submit its reply on Tuesday (today) in some identical petitions of Hajj Tour Operators.

The private tour operators approached the court against unfair allocation of quota among private tour operators. The petitioners' counsel, Azhar Siddique, said the petitioners had requested for 10 percent quota and the ministry had given assurance before the Supreme Court but it was not complied with. He said the government had reduced the quota to 2 percent. He said it was unfair and against the assurance given by the ministry. The Hajj quota should be allotted according to the recommendations made by the SC, he further argued.
