QUETTA: Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Amlish Khan advocating the merger of Levies Force into Police said the classification of A and B areas was affecting the efforts being made for the restoration of peace in the province.

The IG said, “We need financial resources to ensure complete check on entrance of people from bordering areas.”

“Some 100 CC TV cameras are being installed in Quetta city and 83 on entry and exit points of the provincial capital. We have deployed 300 police personnel at 20 barriers in Quetta to ensure security,” Amlish informed. In reply to a query, he said Balochistan police referred 53 cases against terrorists to the Military Courts, adding the intelligence sharing had improved law and order situation and made security operation successful in Balochistan.
