HYDERABAD: The Sindh University Selection Board recommended promotions of 58 faculty members to grade 20 & grade 21 as associate professor and professor respectively here on Wednesday.

Chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abida Taherani, the Sindh University’s selection board in its 164th meeting held at VC Office recommended promotions of 28 associate professors and 30 professors on the basis of required criteria including educational qualification, teaching experience and research papers.

Among secretary of selection board Registrar Ghulam Muhammad Bhutto, the members former justice Deedar Hussain Shah, Ghulam Hussain Shah, Dr Baz Ali Junejo and Kalsoom Chandio.

Those who were recommended for the promotions as associate professor in grade 20 include 18 from faculty of natural sciences, 5 from social sciences, 3 from commerce & business administration and one from faculty of arts and one from faculty of pharmacy.

The 30 associate professors who were recommended for promotion to professor in BPS-21 include 11 from faculty of natural sciences, 14 from social sciences and 5 from faculty of commerce & business administration.

The recommendations of Sindh University’s selection board will be sent to the varsity’s syndicate, which will accord approval of these recommendations. Later, the official notification of the promotions will be issued by the registrar of the varsity.
